Reflexology is a non-ticklish foot treatment, designed to support the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Trying for a baby?
If you're reading this, you've probably been 'trying' for a baby for a month or so, maybe more. It can be one of the biggest emotional rolar coasters you'll ever experience, and you should be supported through that.
More people are turning to complementary therapies to support their natural body rhythm and gains success to conceive a child. There's no miracle cure for sub fertility (unexplained infertility) but you may find using a complementary therapy like Reflexology could help with a mind and body balance that supports a success conception.
Fertility problems can be very stressful and a course of reflexology can also provide the relaxation needed to help return the body to its natural balance ready for parenthood.
Maternity Reflexology is useful to help regulate your menstrual cycles, this should also decrease discomfort or pain associated with ovulation or menstruating. Getting a regular menstrual cycle is a good balance for conception, reflexology also aims to increase blood circulation to the body and pelvis, balance hormones. Other benefits include: Reduce PMS, reduce the chances of miscarriage and also help increase sperm quality and quantity for men.
Secondary Infertility - difficulty conceiving second or subsequent child
Much more common than you may think. A lot of women begin to think about adding to the family when their first is around 18 months old. unhelpfully, fertility can take a dip around this stage, making it more difficult to conceive. Reflexology is most helpful to reduce stress, support better sleep quality (perhaps your youngest isn't 'sleeping through' yet) and get ready to carry another healthy pregnancy.
How many treatments?
I like to work with you for 3 months initially as it takes this long to produce healthy sperm and 1 month for a healthy egg. Ideally I like to see both of you, however if your husband or partner is supportive but does not want his own treatment, I am happy to give some lifestyle advice that may be helpful to him to do his part to conceive :0)
Reflexology is not a cure, it cannot get you pregnant, but it can help your body to be in the best possible place for conception.
I work with couples having IUI and
IVF treatment. Reflexology will help
your body and emotions cope better with a balanced body
and state of mind. I work primarily with relaxation if you are having fertility treatment.
A viable pregnancy is difficult to budge and Reflexology has no wish to interrupt a healthy pregnancy. You can have reflexology whilst you ar miscarrying to support a complete miscarriage and to alleviate the other symptoms of fatigue etc.
As a trained maternity reflexologist my aim is to always balance your body, emotions and state of mind, not to interrupt a pregnancy which is stable.
